Overview
Kalsubai Peak, standing tall at 5,400 ft (1,646 m), is the highest peak in Maharashtra, often called the Everest of Maharashtra. Located in the scenic Western Ghats, the trek offers lush green trails, charming villages, and breathtaking views of surrounding Sahyadri forts.
The trek usually begins from Bari village, just a few hours from Mumbai and Pune, making it an ideal weekend adventure. The trail is moderately challenging yet beginner-friendly, with iron ladders and chains placed at steep sections for safety.
At the summit, you’ll find the Kalsubai Devi Temple, a culturally significant shrine, and a panoramic view stretching across Alang, Madan, Kulang, Ratangad, and Harishchandragad. Sunrise treks are especially popular, rewarding trekkers with magical golden skies.
